Direct dye-sublimation requires synthetic polyester or PBT polymers whose molecular matrix opens at high heat to encapsulate disperse dyes. Standard nylon (polyamide) does not bond cleanly with disperse dyes at standard calendar temps and is prone to UV degradation. While we offer digital acid printing for nylon, we strongly recommend our premium REPREVE® recycled polyester blends, which offer an ultra-soft, peached hand-feel virtually indistinguishable from Italian Carvico nylon.
